Accio to Draught of Peace --- Elixir of Life to Ornithomancy

Patronus
An anti-Dementor device or spell created by using the spellexpecto patronum while thinking happy thoughts Patronus is Latin for father or protector

Permanent Sticking Charm
A charm to prevent removal of pictures and the like

Peskipiski pesternomi A spell used by Lockhart to stop the Cornish pixies (doesn't work). Breaks up into pesky pixie pester no me which translates from complete gibberish to don't pester me pesky pixies.

Petrificus Totalus
Spell for the Full Body-Bind causing the subject to lie motionless or petrified. From the Latin words petra, rock, and facere, to make. Totalis and totus both mean whole.

Polyjuice Potion
A potion that changes the physical appearance of a person in to that of another. Poly means many, in conposition, several, or affecting more than one part, Juice from the French jus or broth, though it literally translates as mixture.

Portkey
Device for moving people at a specific time and to a specific place normally an object that doesn't attract the attention of Muggles i.e. rubbish or litter

Portus
Spell word used to transform an object into a Portkey. Portus is Latin for gate.

Potions
A class at Hogwarts taught by Severus Snape. Potion either is from the Greek poton, drink. Or comes from the Latin potiois, to drink. Potions class teaches students how to make potions such as enlarging potions shrinking potions etc. Professor Snape set up a magical fire as the sixth level of protection for the Philosophers stone.

Priori Incantatem
Used to reveal the most recent spells performed with a specific wand Prior means former or before. An incantation is a charm or spell. (Similar to Finite Incantatem)

Protean Charm
Used by Hermione in Order of the Phoenix. Proteus is a prophetic sea divinity, son of either Poseidon or Oceanus. He will foretell the future to those who can seize him but when caught he assumes all possible varying forms to avoid prophesying. When held fast despite his struggles he will assume his usual form of an old man and tell the future. Encyclopaedia Mythica The spell-word comes from the Latin protegere to protect, it is two words really,Pro-, in front and tegere, to cover.

Quietus
Reverses Sonorus spell Quiet means making little or no noise. Quietus in Latin means discharge from life, extinction. In past times specially trained monks would roam battles field of Europe and 'quiet' the badly injured with a special dagger.

Reducio
Counteracts an enlargement charm Reduce means to bring down in extent amount or degree; diminish and comes from Latin reducere, which means to bring back; return.

Reductor Curse
Blasts solid objects out of one's path Reducere is Latin for to bring back. It is two words re, back, and ducere, to lead.

Relashio
Sends sparks at an opponent Harry used it on grindylows. I am not aware of any normal or old French old German or Latin words with any relevant meaning for this one, lash is to whip or to tie down with rope, so to re-lash is to tie it down again, release is to set free, closest I can get to this is re, to, and Laxus or loose, and relaxare the root of the word relax.

Remembrall
A glass marble-sized ball which when held turns red to tell the holder if they've forgotten something. It comes from remember all, simple as that Reparo Repairs broken or damaged objects

Reparare
Latin for to restore, renew, make good

Revealer
An item that can make invisible ink visible. Hermione has one it looks like a bright red eraser from Latin revelare, to unveil

Reverse Spell Effect
Another name for Priori Incantatem

Reversers
A charm to cure Reluctant Reversers is in the book Harry tries to remember to stop him losing his temper with aunt Marge

Rictusempra
Tickling charm Rictus is Latin for gaping mouth and semper is Latin for always

Riddikulus
A charm to repel Boggarts a simple one that needs force of mind and laughter. Ridiculous means absurd. from the Latin word Rediculus, to laugh.

Scintillation Solution
Spell, potion or charm mentioned by the Kwikspell advert. Scintillation is a flash of light produced by an ionising partial, it also means a flash, hint or trace of.

Scourgify
A cleaning charm, from scour, to vigorously remove grime and dirt. Its root word is scourge, from the Latin excoriare, to flay or whip, taken to mean to flay the skin from a person, a form of religious punishment.

Scourgify
A spell James Potter used to Fill Snapes mouth with pink soap when they were at school together

Serpensortia
A Spell used by Malfoy in Duelling Club in which a large deadly snake burst from the end of his wand. 'Serpent, sors' is the French for 'snake, come out'.

Shrinking Solution
A potion that appears to have the ability to age an animal backwards

Silencing Charm
A spell that silences the target. Silencio The incantation for the Silencing Charm. From the Latin silere, to be silent

Tarantallegra
Spell used by Malfoy during Duelling Club to make Harry dance. Tarantella is dance originating in southern Italy. In its most common modern form it is a flirtatious dance for couples, set to music in 6/8 time, constantly increasing in speed and typically accompanied by castanets and a tambourine. Allegro is a quick lively tempo and also means quickly in Italian.

Time-Turner
A necklace with an hourglass on it gives the wearer the ability to travel back in time

Transmogrifian Torture
One of the curses Professor Lockhart brags about, Transmogrify means to transform especially in a magical or surprising manner

Trip Jinx
A spell to trip someone. Twitchy Ears A curse that makes the target's ears wiggle.

Unbreakable Charm
A spell that maintains the structural integrity of an object.

Undetectable Poisons
Harry had to write an essay on them for Potions class, so apparently they do exist in the wizard world, but how would any one know.

Unforgivable Curses
Spells banned by the Ministry of Magic, although Crouch senior permitted their use in the hunt for the Death Eaters. Normally, use one of them is a quick ticket to Azkaban. They are:
The Cruciatus Curse,
The Imperius Curse,
Avada Kedavra the Killing Curse.

Unliftable jinxes
These type of Jinxes are treated in Hospital by specially trained mediwizards

Vanishing Cabinet
An artefact on the first floor of Hogwarts that transports people away to some random place.

Vanishing Spell
A spell to un-conjure a thing.

Veritaserum,
Truth potion -Veritas is Latin for truth and aserum is a potion.

Waddiwasi
A spell used by Prof. Lupin to send gum up Peeve's nose

Wartcap powder
Powder that causes unpleasant crusty covering.

Wingardium Leviosa
Spell used to lift objects Wingardium: Wings are used in flight. From the Latin word arduus, steep or elevated. Levis to lighten. To levitate is to rise into the air in defiance of gravity

Winged keys
The third level of protection to the Philosopher Stone was an enchanted door by Professor Flitwick and a flock of winged keys.

Wit-Sharpening Potion
A potion studied in the fourth year in Professor Snapes class

Wolfsbane Potion
A potion that makes a werewolf retain its human mind during the full moon
