Yew
The wood used in Lord Voldemort's wand Yew is the tree
of death depicted on Victorian mourning cameos showing a woman weeping at

wood is the best natural composite that made the English longbow so deadly,
that yews are planted in graveyards, and churchyards, not because they because
they 'thrive on corruption' but because in old English law all villages must
supply solders and long bowmen, and all their weapons to their feudal lord
in time of wars or trouble, they had to have a safe place to allow the yew
trees to grow, churches and grave yards were mostly surrounded by strong fences
or wall and this would stop both animals and children from eating the leaves
and berries.
