Viri as a word does exist but it is the nonminative plural of vir meaning man, as in virile.

Archway
There is a room in the Ministry of Magic that holds an unsupported archway, you find after descending in steep steps like an amphitheatre, a raised stone dais stands in the centre of a pit, on which stands a stone archway that looked so ancient, cracked and crumbling. Unsupported by any surrounding wall, the archway is hung with a tattered black curtain or veil. From the other side of the veil faint voices can be heard. To say some one has gone 'beyond the veil' is a polite way of saying dead.

Asphodel

It's a bit of a loose connection but the cockney slang for policeman used to be Rozzers before it became Coppers, and in a south west English accent they both end in the same ‘er' sound, or it could be based on the Latin word aurum, which means gold or aura, which means heaven breeze. Auris is latin for ear, add the suffix or, which means, a thing, or person that does, and you have a person who listens, or uses his ears, a listener. An aura is a distinctive quality that seems to surround a person or thing.
